In the Pankow district of Berlin, Ludwig Hoffmann designed a paired school complex—the 309th and 310th Municipal Schools alongside the 9th Auxiliary School—as an expressionist architectural ensemble. Built during the early twentieth century, the buildings exemplify Hoffmann's approach to institutional architecture, with characteristic expressionist forms that depart from more rigid, classical school design. The complex is recognized today as an architectural heritage monument, preserving an important example of modernist pedagogy and design in interwar Berlin.
