Abbesses is a Paris Métro station on Line 12, located in the Montmartre district of the 18th arrondissement and built in 1912. A striking example of Art Nouveau architecture, the station was the deepest in the Paris Métro system at 36 metres below ground until 2025, when Villejuif–Gustave Roussy surpassed it. Positioned on the western slope of Montmartre's butte, Abbesses provides access to its platforms via an elevator and decorative stairs. The station has been inscribed as a monument historique, recognizing its architectural and historical significance.
