The Adra Lighthouse, located near the town of Adra in Almería province on Spain's Mediterranean coast in Andalusia, is an active navigational aid that has served the region through multiple iterations. The current structure, built in 1986, represents the third lighthouse constructed at this site; its predecessors were abandoned due to practical failures—the first was destroyed by water, and the second proved inadequate because its light could not be distinguished from the town's ambient illumination. Standing 26 meters tall, the modern tower addresses the shortcomings of its predecessors with improved visibility and design.
