Located at 10 rue Pavée in the Marais quarter of Paris's 4th arrondissement, the Agoudas Hakehilos Synagogue stands as a striking example of Art Nouveau design. Completed in 1914, the building was designed by Hector Guimard, the celebrated architect whose distinctive style defined the movement in early twentieth-century Paris. Serving an Orthodox Ashkenazi congregation, the synagogue—popularly known as the Pavée or Guimard synagogue—remains open to the public and is inscribed as a monument historique in France's heritage registry.
