The Akin Free Library stands in the hamlet of Quaker Hill, in the town of Pawling, Dutchess County, New York. Designed by John A. Wood and built between 1898 and 1908 as a gift from Albert J. Akin, it is a 2½-story, T-plan stone building in the eclectic late Victorian style. An engaged three-story central clock tower, entrance portico, and standing seam copper roof distinguish it, and it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1991.
