The Akron Public Library, also known as the Carnegie Building, stands at the northeast corner of East Market Street and South High Street in downtown Akron, Ohio. Built in 1904 with an $82,000 gift from Andrew Carnegie and designed by architect Frank O. Weary, it is a monumental one-story Beaux-Arts building with French Renaissance touches, including a mansard roof. It is faced in smooth-dressed Ohio buff sandstone and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
