Alamo Stadium is a horseshoe-shaped football and soccer stadium in the Monte Vista Historic District of San Antonio, Texas. Completed in September 1940 as a Works Progress Administration project, it is built largely of limestone, which earned it the nickname "The Rock Pile." The Moderne-style stadium is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned by the San Antonio Independent School District, which uses it for high school football and soccer. It seats 18,500.
