The Alaska State Capitol in Juneau houses the Alaska Legislature and the offices of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor. Built in the Art Deco style, it opened on February 14, 1931, as a federal building, and became the seat of the state legislature after Alaska achieved statehood in 1959.
