Ali Qapu is a Safavid imperial palace on the western side of Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan, Iran, opposite Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque. Built by decree of Shah Abbas the Great in the early 17th century, it originally served as a grand portal to the palace stretching toward Chaharbagh Boulevard. Standing 48 metres tall over six floors, its sixth-floor Music Hall has deep circular wall niches valued for their acoustics.
