The Aljafería is a fortified medieval palace in Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain, built in the second half of the 11th century for the Banu Hud dynasty of the Taifa of Zaragoza. It is the only large conserved example of Spanish Islamic architecture from the taifa era, and its ornamentation strongly influenced Almoravid and Almohad art. In 1593 it was converted into a military fortress, and it now houses the regional parliament of Aragon.
