Built in Granada in 1894, the Antiguo Colegio Máximo de la Compañía de Jesús is a neo-Mudéjar public building designed by Francisco Rabanal. The structure exemplifies the late-nineteenth-century revival of Mudéjar architectural elements, drawing on the ornamental traditions of medieval Islamic Spain as reinterpreted through European Romanticism. Recognized as a bien de interés cultural, the building stands as a significant example of Granada's architectural heritage during the period when Spanish architects were rediscovering and celebrating the region's complex multicultural past through historicist design.
