The former Asia Insurance Building, now Ascott Raffles Place, stands in the Central Business District of Singapore at the corner of Finlayson Green and Raffles Quay. Designed by pioneer Singapore architect Ng Keng Siang and completed in 1955 as the headquarters of the Asia Insurance Company, the Art Deco skyscraper rose 270 feet (82 metres), making it the city's tallest tower until 1971. In 2006 the Ascott Group acquired it and converted the office tower into a serviced apartment residence.
