The Austrian Parliament Building stands on the Ringstraße in Vienna's Innere Stadt, near the Hofburg Palace and the Palace of Justice. Designed by Theophil Hansen in the Greek Revival style and built of Adnet marble, it was begun with a foundation stone laid in 1874 and completed in 1883. Built to house the two chambers of the Imperial Council, it has since served the two houses of the Austrian legislature.
