Babak Castle, also called Pāpak Fort, is a large citadel on a mountaintop in the Arasbaran forests of northwestern Iran, about 6 km southwest of Kalibar City in Kaleybar County. According to Ibn al-Nadim, it was the stronghold of Javidhan and Babak Khorramdin, leaders of the Khurramites in Iranian Azerbaijan who fought the Abbasid Caliphate. The Abbasid general Afshin's army conquered and ruined the fort in 837. It is listed as Iranian National Heritage.
