Balch Hall, completed in 1929 on Cornell University's North Campus in Ithaca, is a Collegiate Gothic dormitory designed by architect Frederick L. Ackerman. Originally constructed as four separate eighty-student halls—a configuration reflected in its former plural name, the Balch Halls—it remains the sole all-female residence hall on the North Campus. The building houses female undergraduates organized into residential units, each overseen by a Residential Advisor. Prior to renovations completed in 2024, the dormitory retained an old-fashioned character, with rooms featuring individual sinks or shared facilities between pairs of rooms.
