Bamburgh Castle stands on the northeast coast of England beside the village of Bamburgh in Northumberland. The site was once home to the Celtic Brittonic fort of Din Guarie, and the Normans later built the castle that forms the core of the present structure. Restored in the 18th and 19th centuries, it was finally completed by the Victorian industrialist William Armstrong, and it is a Grade I listed building open to the public.
