The Bank of China Building stands at No. 23 on the Bund in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. Designed by Luke Him Sau in the Art Deco style, it was built on the site of the old German Club, c. 1907, and was once the headquarters of the Bank of China, which now houses its Shanghai Branch there. Its stunted height is attributed to Victor Sassoon's insistence that no other Bund building rise higher than his. It is a Shanghai Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
