The Barcelona Royal Shipyard (Drassanes Reials de Barcelona) is a Gothic former military shipyard in the Port Vell area of Barcelona's port. Construction began in the 13th century under Peter III of Aragon, and excavations in 2012 revealed that a new building was erected atop the medieval dockyard in the late 16th century, shaping its present form. It now houses the Barcelona Maritime Museum and is listed as a Cultural Asset of National Interest.
