The Barra Point Lighthouse, also known as the Farol da Ponta da Barra, stands on the Indian Ocean coast of southeastern Mozambique, on the Ponta da Barra peninsula in Inhambane Province, about 25 km by road from Inhambane city. Below it, a natural tidal pool makes snorkelling popular at low tide, and the wreck of the Italian-built cargo ship SS Inharrime, which ran aground in 1949, lies exposed nearby.
