The Basilica of Sant'Andrea is a Roman Catholic co-cathedral and minor basilica in Mantua, Lombardy, and one of the major works of 15th-century Renaissance architecture in Northern Italy. Commissioned by Ludovico III Gonzaga, it was begun in 1472 to designs by Leon Battista Alberti on a site once occupied by a Benedictine monastery, whose bell tower (1414) remains. Later changes altered Alberti's design, yet the church is still considered one of his most complete works.
