The Basilica of the Annunciation, also called the Church of the Annunciation, is a Catholic church in Nazareth, northern Israel, designed in the modern style by Giovanni Muzio and built from 1969. It stands 49 metres tall over the site that Catholic tradition holds to be the house of the Virgin Mary, where the angel Gabriel announced to her that she would give birth to Jesus. The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation is the other claimant to that site.
