The Bass Rock Lighthouse stands on Bass Rock off East Lothian, Scotland. Built in 1902 by David Stevenson, the 20-metre tower was constructed partly from stone taken from the 13th-century castle keep and other buildings on the rock. First lit on 1 November 1902, it has been unmanned since 1988 and is monitored remotely from the Northern Lighthouse Board's headquarters in Edinburgh.
