Bazas Cathedral, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, stands in Bazas, Gironde, France, dominating the town from the east end of a wide open space called the parvis. Built mainly in the 13th and 14th centuries on the model of the great Gothic cathedrals of northern France, it has a west front with three levels, including a 1537 rose window and a Neoclassical gable from 1723. Its long, narrow nave has no transept and was rebuilt between 1583 and 1635 after Huguenot damage in 1561. It is a national monument and part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela World Heritage Site.
