The Beehive is the common name for the Executive Wing of the New Zealand Parliament Buildings, at the corner of Molesworth Street and Lambton Quay in Wellington. Designed by Basil Spence in the modern style, it takes its name from its resemblance to a traditional woven skep. Construction ran from 1969 to 1981, and the building has housed government ministers' offices since 1979. Heritage New Zealand has registered it as a Category I historic place.
