The Befreiungshalle, or "Hall of Liberation," is a neoclassical monument on the Michelsberg hill above Kelheim in Bavaria, Germany. King Ludwig I of Bavaria commissioned it to commemorate the victory over Napoleon in the Befreiungskriege of 1813–1815. Friedrich von Gärtner designed it, and it stands just downstream of the Danube Gorge, where the Danube meets the Altmühl.
