The Benjamin Franklin National Memorial stands in the rotunda of the Franklin Institute science museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Sculpted by James Earle Fraser between 1932 and 1938 and dedicated in 1938, its 20-foot seated statue of Franklin rests on a white Seravezza marble pedestal. The statue is the focal point of Memorial Hall, designed by John Windrim after the Roman Pantheon, and the statue and hall were designated a National Memorial in 1972.
