Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe is a landscape park sprawling across 2.4 square kilometres on a hillside near Kassel, Germany, making it the largest European park of its kind and the second largest hillside park globally. Construction began in 1689 under the patronage of the Landgraves of Hesse-Kassel and continued for approximately 150 years. The park is distinguished by its monumental Baroque architecture and remarkable fountains and water features, which prompted its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. Today it welcomes visitors and operates as both a public park and museum.
