The Beurs van Berlage is a building on the Damrak in central Amsterdam, designed by Hendrik Petrus Berlage and constructed between 1896 and 1903. Built of red brick with an iron and glass roof, it is entered beneath a 40-metre clock tower and contains three large multi-storey halls. Its sweeping planes and open-plan interiors influenced many modernist architects, particularly functionalists and the Amsterdam School. It now serves as a venue for concerts, exhibitions and conferences, and is a Rijksmonument.
