The Birmingham Alabama Temple is a Latter-day Saint temple in the suburb of Gardendale, just north of Birmingham. Announced in 1998 and dedicated by Gordon B. Hinckley on September 3, 2000, it is the church's 98th operating temple and the first in Alabama. Its single-story design is clad in Imperial Danby white marble from Vermont and topped by a spire with an angel Moroni statue.
