The Bismarck Monument stands on the Elbhöhe in the St. Pauli quarter of Hamburg-Mitte, near the jetties of the port. Dedicated to Otto von Bismarck and built from 1906, it was designed by Johann Emil Schaudt, with sculpture by Hugo Lederer, and rises 34.3 metres in granite. It is the largest and probably best known of the roughly 240 Bismarck memorials worldwide, and it is a heritage monument in Hamburg.
