Bítov Castle stands on a steep promontory above the meandering River Želetavka, near the Vranov reservoir in the village of Bítov, about 25 kilometres northwest of Znojmo in the Czech Republic. Built in the 11th century, it is one of the oldest and largest Moravian castles. Its architecture blends Gothic, Renaissance, baroque, Romantic and historicist elements, and it is a national cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
