The Black Abbey in Kilkenny, Ireland, is a Catholic priory of the Dominican Order dedicated to the Holy and Undivided Trinity. Though established in 1225 as one of the first Dominican houses in Ireland, the building's architectural form reflects later reconstruction, with work undertaken in 1761 in the Norman style. The priory's long history has been marked by reversals of fortune under successive governments.
