Blacksod Lighthouse stands at the southern end of the Mullet Peninsula in Erris, County Mayo, at the entrance to Blacksod Bay. Built in 1864 of local granite from the nearby Beaufort outcrop, it has a square tower topped by a small white conical lantern, and it is one of only two true square lighthouses in Ireland.
