Demolished or destroyed.
Bohus Fortress is a castle ruin in Kungälv Municipality, Sweden, standing on a cliff about 40 metres high where the Göta River divides into two branches, which form a natural moat around it. Roughly 20 kilometres north of Gothenburg, it once lay along the old Norwegian–Swedish border. Founded in 1308 and demolished in 1789, the Renaissance-style complex is credited to Hans van Steenwinckel the Elder.
