Demolished or destroyed.
Borley Rectory was a large Gothic Revival house in Borley, Essex, built in 1862 to house the parish rector and his family. It was badly damaged by fire in 1939 and demolished in 1944. Psychic researcher Harry Price publicised alleged paranormal activity there in 1929, earning it the label "the most haunted house in England," but a Society for Psychical Research study later rejected most of the sightings and questioned Price's credibility.
