The Potsdam Gate (Brandenburger Tor) on Luisenplatz in Potsdam, Germany, is a Neoclassical triumphal arch built in 1770–71 by Carl von Gontard and his pupil Georg Christian Unger for Frederick II of Prussia to celebrate his victories in the Seven Years' War. Both long sides use the Corinthian order: Gontard's city-facing side is a rendered facade with pilasters and trophies, while Unger's outer side has projecting column pairs and more prominent sculpture. It has stood free-standing since the city wall was demolished around 1900.
