Buckfast Abbey is an active Benedictine monastery near Buckfastleigh, Devon, England, and a Grade II* listed building. French Benedictines bought the site in 1882 and refounded the monastery, and work on the new abbey church, built largely on the footprint of the former Cistercian abbey, began in 1907 and was completed in 1938. The architect was Frederick Walters, and the buildings combine Romano-Gothic, Romanesque Revival and Tudor Revival styles.
