Perched above Georgenberg in Bavaria's Upper Palatinate region, Burg Schellenberg is a ruined rock castle founded in 1347. Built atop a dramatic rocky outcrop, it served both as a defensive stronghold and observation tower, commanding views across the surrounding landscape. Today the castle survives as archaeological remains and stands as a protected cultural monument (Kulturdenkmal) in Bavaria, its fragmentary stones a testament to medieval fortification practices in the region.
