Burgos Cathedral, the Catholic Cathedral of Saint Mary, stands in the historical centre of Burgos, Spain, and is a World Heritage Site. Construction began in 1221 on a Latin cross plan, in a Gothic style modelled on French cathedrals. In the 15th and 16th centuries, flamboyant Gothic spires on the main facade, the Chapel of the Constable and the transept dome were added, giving the building its distinctive profile.
