Marshalltown, United States

The C.H. Whitehead House is a historic residence in Marshalltown, Iowa, built around 1900 for C.H. Whitehead, a Boone County native who had opened a women's and children's clothing store in the city in 1898. The house blends several styles rather than adhering to one: Queen Anne asymmetry in its off-center projecting bay and porch pediment, Georgian Revival rectangular form and Adamesque details, and a 17th-century New England colonial overhang of the second floor on the side elevations. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
