The Cannon Building stands on Broadway between First and State streets in Troy, New York, and is the oldest building on Monument Square. Designed by Alexander Jackson Davis with Ithiel Town and built in 1835, it is one of the rare surviving large-scale commercial buildings in the Greek Revival style. After two fires following the Civil War, a mansard roof, usually associated with the Second Empire style, was added to create an unusual combination. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
