The Cape Agulhas Lighthouse stands on the southern edge of the village of L'Agulhas, at Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, within Agulhas National Park. Completed in 1849, it is the third lighthouse built in South Africa and the second-oldest still operating, after Green Point. The American Society of Civil Engineers named it an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 2016. It is 27 metres tall.
