The Captain Moses W. Collyer House, also known as Driftwood, stands on River Road South in Chelsea, New York, near the Hudson River. Built in 1899, it is an eclectic blend of Late Victorian styles reflecting its owner's years on the river and in its port communities. Collyer, a riverboat captain, lived there until his death in 1942, and a few years after moving in he co-wrote *The Sloops of the Hudson*, a history of the sailboat era on the river. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 and remains a private residence.
