Castel Nuovo, also called Maschio Angioino, is a medieval castle fronting Piazza Municipio and the city hall in central Naples, Italy. Its construction is dated variously to 1279 and 1282, and it served as a royal seat for the kings of Naples, Aragon and Spain until 1815. Today it houses the Neapolitan Society of Homeland History and a civic museum that includes the Palatine Chapel.
