The Catalina Casino is an entertainment building in Avalon on Santa Catalina Island, off the coast of Los Angeles, California. Built in 1929 to a design by Sumner Spaulding in the Art Deco style, it is the island's largest building and its most visible landmark from Avalon Bay. It houses a movie theater and a ballroom, and formerly contained an island art and history museum. Despite its name, derived from the Spanish word for a gathering place, it has never been a gambling facility.
