The Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady, also known as Győr Cathedral, is a Catholic church in Győr, Hungary, and the seat of the Diocese of Győr. Its early 11th-century Romanesque predecessor was destroyed by the Mongols and rebuilt between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries. After the Turks were expelled, its interior was redesigned in early Baroque style between 1635 and 1650 by the Italian master Giovanni Battista Rava, and the tower was completed in 1680. In 1997 Pope John Paul II granted it the status of minor basilica.
