The Cathedral of Syracuse, formally the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Most Holy Nativity of Mary, stands in the historic core of Ortygia Island in Syracuse, Sicily, and serves as seat of the Catholic Archdiocese of Siracusa. Its structure began as a Greek Doric temple, which is why it is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site designated in 2005. Its Baroque architecture, by Andrea Palma, dates from 1753.
