The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Holy Virgin Mary is a neo-Gothic Catholic cathedral in central Moscow's Presnensky District and the seat of the Archdiocese of Moscow. Designed by Tomasz Bohdanowicz-Dworzecki, the three-aisled red-brick building was influenced by Westminster Abbey and Milan Cathedral. Construction ran from 1901 to 1911. It was closed in 1938 under Soviet rule, returned to worship in 1996, and is now a federally protected heritage site.
