The Cathedral of the Visitation, also called Szombathely Cathedral, is a Catholic church in Szombathely, Hungary, and the principal church of the Diocese of Szombathely. Begun in 1791 and completed in 1797, with interior work continuing until 1814, it was built in a classical style after the diocese was established in 1777. Architect Melchior Hefele prepared the plans, and the building stands on the ancient forum of the Roman city of Savaria. Its ceiling frescoes, attributed to Franz Anton Maulbertsch and his school, did not survive World War II bombing.
