The Cedar County Sheriff's House and Jail is a historic brick complex in Tipton, Iowa. It was a "Mom and Pop Jail," in which the sheriff's wife cooked for prisoners while the sheriff or a deputy supervised and administered the facility. It is thought to have been the last such jail-and-residence combination still in use when it closed in 2001. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003, it is part of the Municipal, County and State Corrections Properties multiple property submission.
